Visiting U.S. Professors Program

We supported research collaboration for more than 30 visiting U.S. professors and researchers and 20 universities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao in the last three years.

USAID/Philippines, through STRIDE, provides assistance to Philippine higher education institutions to invite an eminent U.S. researcher and professor in science and technology to enhance the knowledge and skills of the academic staff and students of the host university. USAID covers the travel expenses and stipend of the visiting expert.

The objective of the program is to increase the research capacity of local universities through their engagement, exposure and interaction with leading U.S. academics for a period of up to three weeks. Under the program, the visiting professor will provide consultation, conduct lectures and workshops, and mentor academic staff and graduate students in the professor’s field of expertise.

The visiting professors and host universities are encouraged to use the opportunity to form future research collaboration.
